Super Eagles of Nigeria midfield maestro, Ogenyi Onazi was in action for Zalgiris Vilnius in their round two of the UEFA champions league qualifications against Ferencvaros at the Groupama Arena.
The midfield retained his place in his team’s starting XI following his impressive showing for the club in their previous game.
Onazi who scored in the previous round impressed once again, despite being on the losing side of the night.
Ogenyi Onazi’s efforts were not enough to save his side from the defeat, but they still have a second leg to play for.
The host broke the deadlock in the 25th minutes courtesy of a goal from Myrto Uzuni.
Tokmac Chol Nguen doubled the lead in the 39th minute to give his side a massive advantage going into the second half.
However, both sides were unable to found the back of the net in the second 45 minutes and Ferencvaros will go into the return leg with a healthy scoreline.
With the result, Onazi and his teammates will need to win the second leg by at least three goals to be guaranteed a place in the next round.
