Theo Bongonda opened scoring for KRC Genk in the 44th minutes through a fine teamwork from Bryan Heynen, before Matej Mitrovic equalized for Club Brugge in the 45th minutes.
Noa Lang put Club Brugge ahead from penalty spot in the 48th minutes, before Clinton Mata made it 3-1 in the 50th minutes.
Jere Uronen reduced the deficit for Genk in the 90th minutes but they couldn’t find the all important equaliser before the final whistle.
