Sunshine stars and NPFL joint topscorer Sadeeq Yusuf has urged players in the Nigerian league to be passport prepared for national team opportunity after missing out on the chance to be part of the Super Eagles team that embarked on the trip to California for Sunday’s international friendly with Mexico due to expired passport.
Yusuf speaking in a chat with www.brila.net enjoined players to ensure that while they are working hard on the field to be noticed for national team opportunities, they should also ensure that they have their passport ready for any opportunity or call that may arise. He also wished the Super Eagles team to California all the best as they face CONCACAF Gold cup champions Mexico.
“I will encourage them to be theirselves, let them calm down and play their game. I believe they are going to do well and for the lesson I should have renewed my passport way before now so that this wouldn’t have happened but I promise it’s not going to happen again by God grace. I want to tell others that when they are playing, they don’t know when the opportunity will come so let them be prepared especially with things like passport. When it expire let them try and renew it and keep it.”
