Ajunwa tips Brume for Olympics glory

1996 Olympic Gold Medalist Chioma Ajunwa has tipped Nigerian Long jump athletes Ese Brume for glory at the fast approaching Tokyo Olympics in Japan after the 25 year old Brume broke Ajunwa’s 25 years old record of 7.12m achieved at the games in 1996 with a better record of 7.17m at the Chula Vista festival in the USA last weekend.

Ajunwa speaking in a chat with brila.net stressed that she is happy to have seen her record come to an end as this indicates potential medal success for the Nigerian at the Tokyo Olympics.

She added that with the Olympics not far away, Brume should keep calm and not get involved in many events so as to stay fresh ahead of the Olympic games in Tokyo.

“25 years is a very long year and this is what I have been expecting all along and I thank God that it is Ese that did it and she did it at the very right time very close to the Olympics and I believe if she can put her heads down, calculate very well rest well enough, I believe she can hit it at the Olympics.”
