Junior Ajayi’s Al Ahly have clinched the CAF Super Cup after beating RS Berkane 2-0 at the Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium on Friday.
Ajayi was not listed for the game and the reason for his exclusion from the match was not disclosed by the coach Pitso Mosimane.
Despite missing the match, the Nigerian is entitled to get the winners medal, having helped the club to win the CAF Champions League title back in November over arch rivals Zamalek.
The striker has now won his 10th trophy with the Egyptian giants since joining the club from CS Xfaxien of Tunisia in 2016.
In the absence of the Ajayi, Mohamed Sherif and Salah Mohsen scored the goals that clinched the title for the Red Devils.
Mohamed Sherif gave the Red Devils the lead, just 12 minutes into the second half, while Salah Mohsen sealed the victory 5 minutes from time.
With this win, Al Ahly has now completed the continental double for the 2019-2020 season.
