Cyriel Dessers is glad to fire Genk into the champions league after netting a late winner against Club Brugge on Sunday.

Dessers netted a penalty on the 85th minutes to hand the John Van Den Brom’s KRC Genk important three points in the final day of the Belgian play-offs.

The former NAC Breda and FC Utrecht attacker, who endured a difficult start to life in the Belgian league was stuck on four goals in the regular season.

A turning around in form saw him score important goals in three consecutive playoff matches to finish the campaign with the seventh league goal.

Dessers took to his social media handle to express his delight after the game.

Genk are now through to the champions league along with champions Club Bruges, while Royal Antwerp secured Europa league slot and Anderlecht moves to the UEFA Conference League.
