Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership side, Edo Queens have appointed Wemimo Mathew as their new head coach.

Edo Queens decided to appoint the CAF A licensed coach after their unimpressive performance at the NWFL Super Six, where they finish bottom of the Group without a single win.

The former Sunshine Queens of Akure gaffer’s appointment was confirmed on Thursday after meeting with the management of the club.

Wemimo Matthew who is also Super Falcons Assistant coach, guided Sunshine Queens to a fourth-place finish at the end of 2020/2021 NWFL Premiership Super Six at Ijebu Ode, Ogun State last Month.

The coach will resume her new role with immediate effect and she’s expected to help them challenge for the big crown next season.
