Youngster Carney Chukwuemeka made his first Premier League appearance for Aston Villa against Tottenham Hotspurs on Wednesday.
The 17-year-old replaced Zimbabwe midfielder MarvelousNakamba in the 89th minute and helped Dean Smith’s men to an important victory at troubled Tottenham.
The Anglo-Nigerian came off the bench toward the end of the gameand almost marked his debut with a stoppage-time strike.
Chukwuemeka was clear on goal, but his fine his effort came off the wood work, just before the final whistle .
Who is Carney Chukwuemeka
The highly rated youngster was born in Austria to Nigerian parents, but began his career in England.
Chukwuemeka joined Aston from Northampton Town when he was 12 year old and he has since developed through the ranks at the club.
He signed his professional contract at the club back in October 2020and was first included in matchday squad for the first time in February 2021, but he didn’t play a a part.
The 17-year-old has played for Aston Villa U23 and U18 level and his latest appearance with the first team means, he became the third-youngest player to play for Aston Villa in the Premier League afterGareth Barry and Rushian Hepburn-Murphy
National team career
The youngster has played for England at the Under-17 level. He featured in two friendlies against Germany back in December 2019.
Chukwuemeka is still eligible to represent Nigeria through his parents or his country of birth Austria.
