Super Eagles star Paul Ebere Onuachu continues his impressive goal scoring form, as he found the back of the net for Genk in their 1-1 draw against Anderlecht FC, in the Belgium Pro League playoff.
Onuachu led the attack for Genk alongside Junya Ito and Theo Bongonda, on a day they needed a win to boost their chances of qualifying for next season’s champions league.
The in-form striker was the savior for coach John van den Brom’s tutored side, as he netted the goal that rescued them from defeat.
The visitors took the lead through Anouar Ait El Hadj in the 33rd minutes, after receiving an assist from Yari Verschaeren, to end the first half 1-0.
Onuachu however denied the Vincent Kompany men the victory when he equalized for the home team in the 67th minutes, thanks to an assist from Junya Ito.
Onuachu has now scored the total number of 36 goals in all competitions this season (32 League goals, two Belgium Cup goals, and two goals for the Super Eagles of Nigeria).
His tally of 32 goals means has now scored the most goals in a single season of the Belgian topflight since Erwin Vandenbergh (39) in 1979/80.
The draw against Anderlecht FC has now taken Racing Genk football club to the second spot in the Belgium Pro League playoff table with 35 points.
