Sadiq Umar says Almeria will continue to fight for promotion to LaLiga from the Segunda Division until the end of the season.
Almeria missed the opportunity to themselves in a good position for an automatic promotion spot when they allowed two goals lead slip away from them against Real Oviedo over the weekend.
The Joan Francesc’s side are currently third behind Real Mallorca and Espanyol after 37 matches played with three games to play.
“We are going to fight for it even though the playoffs, the most important thing is that we must not give up,” he told journalists on Monday.
Since arriving Spanish second division, the former Partizan Belgrade man Sadiq has scored 18 goals in 33 league appearances for this season and he’s in the race for this season’s golden shoe.
“Individually, I am satisfied with the number of goals I have achieved but in reality, the most important thing for me, the primary objective is a promotion to First Division.

“I do not continuously look at the Pichichi data, it would be good to achieve it but what I focus the most on is not so much in scoring but in the team doing it.
“I like to give assists and score points for the team. If I succeed and help the team reach its goal, I would be very happy with it,” the former Roma forward said.
Sadiq Umar will be aiming to add to his tally when they travel To Tenerife this Friday.
