Enyimba FC striker Victor Mbaoma has stated that the People’s Elephant wants to ensure a winning start to her CAF Confederation cup group stage opener later today against Libyan side Ahly Benghazi as they race for qualification into the business end of the competition gets underway.
Mbaoma who returned from injury to net for the People’s Elephant in her last league game over a week ago said Enyimba are aware of the task at hand and the decent pedigree of their opponents and as such will ensure they give their all to register a win which would be needed in the bid to ensure qualification from the group stage starts on a positive note.
“We just have to try our best to get the first game because it means a lot for us to win our first game because it will actually help us. We know what is at stake and we are actually very ready for the game. We want to win and we have to win and we must win so we are ready for it and the only way to do that is to get the job done.”
