Ligue 1 side, Nantes awaits the French Football Federation (FFF) decision on Claudio Ranieri’s deal as the next boss of the Club.
Ranieri has decided to return to football after being sacked as Leicester City boss last season. The Italian has agreed a deal with the club who finished seventh under Manager Sérgio Conceição.
The former Roma player’s appointment will be on hold due to age related issues. The FFF rules state that clubs cannot appoint managers who are above the age of 65 – and Ranieri turned 65 in October last year.
According to France Info, Nantes president Waldemar Kita said:’The league agrees, I believe that only the FFF is delaying the appointment a little, I do not know why.
‘What we are interested in is the experience of Ranieri as a footballer and coach, since we know that he has coached the biggest teams in Europe.’
The Former best FIFA men coach has previously managed big clubs all over Europe, including Fiorentina, Valencia, Atletico Madrid, Chelsea, Juventus, Monaco and the Greece national team.
The Italian was sacked by Leicester City in February.
Whilst Ranieri was managing Leicester City, the 65 year old won the English Premier League in his first season with the club before he was sacked in February 2017 due to poor performance of the team.
