An Instagram photo uploaded by Steven Gerrard has sparked a heated debate online, with the Liverpool legend accused of sexism.

Gerrard shared a snap of his three daughters – Lilly-Ella, 13, Lexie, 11 and Lourdes, five – cooing over their baby brother Lio, but many took issue with his caption.

“Looks like his ironing and washing is sorted when he gets older,”
he wrote alongside the image.

Many of his followers wrote angry replies, criticizing the former England International for assuming the girls would take charge of the household chores.

The whole thing immediately divided fans, with one person raging: “@stevengerrard I’m an LFC fan & I’m disappointed with this sexist post.”
