Onuachu sets his sight on winning Belgian league crown

Super Eagles forward Paul Onuachu is delighted with his current form and has set his sights on winning the top scorer award in Belgium this season.

 

The former FC Midtjylland of Denmark forward is enjoying his football at moment, after scoring six goals in six matches for the former Belgian champions this season.

 

The lanky forward scored nine goals in all competition last term hit the ground running this term and his recent brace for the Limburgers means he’s just three goals short of last season’s tally.

 

Onuachu said he’s happy with his current form, he also reiterated his desire to continue developing his game and also set his sight on winning the golden boot award at the end of the season.

 

“I want to continue to improve. Becoming the top scorer in Belgium would be nice because I dream of it.

 

“But I do not want to impose too much pressure on myself and the season is going well though, so we’ll see where I end.”

 

The 2019 African Cup of Nations bronze winner, concluded that he’s desperate to help Genk reclaim the league crown they lost to Club Brugge last season.

 

” I have already become champion in Denmark with Jess Thorup, at FC Midtjylland.

 

“Now we want to achieve that together with Racing Genk”, Onuachu told Het Laatste Nieuws.

 

Onuachu was a surprise omission from Gernot Rohr’s Super Eagles squad to face Algeria and Tunisia in next week’s International friendly in Austria.
