Women Football Administrator and Chairman of Adamawa Queens FC Emmanuel Zira has stated that he expects the CAF women’s champions league to come with a winning Prize without which the competition’s success may be in doubt.
Zira speaking in a chat with www.brila.net hailed the Confederation of African Football CAF for coming up with a cost-effective format.
He described the format as excellent after the format for the competition was revealed to include teams emerging from regional qualifiers before the top 6 teams from the CAF regions gets joined by a wild card entry and a host nation’s representative in a field of eight teams in two groups for the final competition.
“For a start, I think that is an excellent one from CAF, as it becomes more and more popular that format will be reviewed, they will introduce a prize tag to it. It’s just that they are probably silent about it but I’m sure you cannot play that tournament of that magnitude and you don’t attach Prize value to it, so I’m definitely sure that CAF is going to come up with a prize value for the championship.”
