As election for the new board of the Nigeria handball federation draws near, Nigeria’s national handball coach, Fidelis Obi, has stated that more competitions should be initiated.
Speaking with Brila FM, Fidelis Obi stated that, the incoming board of handball federation should organize competitions in order to engage and expose players, stating that it is vital for the growth of the game in the nation.
He therefore called for the Ministry of sports to give more support to the federation, stating that funding is vital for the progression of the sport.
“I expect which ever board coming in, to ensure they expose the players through regular competitions and I hope the league will commence for the second year.
“Both the junior and senior players will be thoroughly selected to represent the national teams so as to make sure they do well for the country.
The sports ministry will conduct the national sports federation elections which has been scheduled to take place in Abuja on June 13.
