Former Nigerian player Etim Esin has criticized the Nigeria Football Federation and the Akwa Ibom State FA for snubbing ex players in the build up to Nigeria’s 2019 Afcon qualifier against South Africa.
Etim was one of Nigeria’s brightest stars in the 1980s and early 90s. He played for the national team and several domestic sides including Iwanyanwu Nationale and Flash Flamingos.
He later moved to Belgium where he joined KAA Gent, Lokeren and Lierse SK.
However, the 50-year-old has been a staunch critic of the Football authorities in Nigeria and was quick to point the disregard for ex players as part of the crucial task of qualifying for the 2019 Afcon.
His first tweet on Wednesday was a reply to the nff’s comment on the importance of Saturday’s game.
NFF: “We must miss out NO MORE!
We have to make 2019 AFCON possible for our darling Super Eagles
Wear Green & White on Saturday
#SoarSuperEagles”
Etim: “a match like this, no provision for ex eagles to wear green an white #onelov”

On Thursday, he turned his attention to the Akwa Ibom FA.
He tweeted: “Sad dat at this age akwaibom state can’t recognise his own, 1st professional footballer from Akwaibom”
