Dessers slams report linking him with Belgian national team

Cyriel Dessers has slammed reports going round in the media that he is contemplating dumping Nigeria for Belgium.

Various media outlets reported that the 25-year-old is open to an invitation from Belgium a few months after committing his international future to Nigeria.

 

Dessers who is eligible to play for the Red Devils of Belgium because of his father said he’s committed to Nigeria and claimed their no truth in the reports.

 

“They made a story from nothing. I didn’t even talk with Belgium and then they make a story.

 

“I said I hoped for a call (from Nigeria) in September, but that’s not even sure. That’s the coach who decides, It’s not in my hands.

 

 

“It’s just the clickbait sites who take things out of context and make juicy titles,” Dessers explained to AOlFootball.

 

 

The 25-year-old who qualified to represent Nigeria through his mother was included in Nigeria’s doubleheader clash against Sierra Leone back in March but the game was canceled due to the outbreak of the deadly Coronavirus.
