At 31, Adejo eyes national team call up

Lamia FC of Greece and Nigerian defender Daniel Adejo has stated that he hopes to earn a call up to the national team of Nigeria notwithstanding his age after a productive 2019/2020 season where he featured 31 times in 34 Greek Super league games.

Adejo speaking in a chat with brila.net said he is still very hopeful of starring for Nigeria’s Super Eagles if the invitation comes down to how impressive the last campaign was for players on an individual basis.
He however expressed some reservations on whether the coach of the Super Eagles of Nigeria will have the confidence to invite a player at his age as the defender turns 31 on the 7th of August 2020.
“I’m still looking forward to the national team but we have to be realistic too because 7th August I will be 31. So I don’t know if the coach will be able to have the confidence to be able to put or call someone at the age of 31 but in Europe this can happen because I remember Quagliarella in the Italian national team at the age of 38, they invited him in the national team because he did well but in Africa we have different mentality.”
