Ararat Armenia and former Nigeria U17 national team forward Yusuf Otubanjo has stated that he hopes to have a chance to reunite with his former U17 national team colleagues at the senior level with Nigeria’s Super Eagles after helping his side win the Armenia league for the 2019/2020 league season.Â
Otubanjo who featured for host nation Nigeria at the 2009 FIFA U17 world cup said in a chat with www.brila.net that he is hopeful of been opportune to grace the national team again alongside a few of his compatriot like Keneth Omeruo, Ramon Azeez and Kayode Olanrewaju who have gone ahead to play at the senior national team level for Nigeria after a productive end to the Armenia league where he scored 9 goals in the final 15 games of the season for his side in the league and cup competition.
“Every footballer’s dream is about playing for the national team. I check back the lives of my colleagues back then in U17 the likes of Omeruo, Onazi, Ramon, Kayode and Ajagun. It really will be a good honour if we all come together and have a good team together in the national team to show the world what we can achieve together with one mind. They are doing well also, they get the chance to play for the national team which everyone is looking forward to and it will be an honour also when one knocks on my door.”
