League stoppage shouldn’t rule out home based players from National team radar – Ekpo

Former Nigeria international Friday Ekpo has stated that the stoppage of the Nigerian Football League should not rule out domestic league professionals from been in the radar of players to be monitored for national team consideration after lockdown stressing that the coaches should know the good ones already.

Ekpo speaking in a chat with  brila.net said the good players are known for what they have done before now even with the long period of inactivity which also applies to some foreign-based players as well.
He added these good players shouldn’t be overlooked on the ground of a long period of inactivity after the sports lockdown break.
“Yes the home-based players might not have the opportunity but we know the good ones among them and the coach has been around for a very long time even though he hasn’t been watching Nigerian league but he has Nigerian coaches as assistants so they too should go in and see how good these players are despite the fact that we don’t continue our league.”
