Ighalo makes cameo appearance in United’s draw with Tottenham

Odion Ighalo came on in the second half for Manchester United in the draw against Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham Hotspurs Stadium on Friday night.

The Nigerian forward was introduced in the 78th minutes for French striker Anthony Martial but he was unable to find the back of the net and his search for first Premier League goal for the club continues.

While Ighalo fired blank, United needed a late penalty from Bruno Fernandes to rescue a point at the Tottenham Hotspurs Stadium after Steven Bergwijn’s gave Spurs the lead against the run of play.

The former PSV Eindhoven forward produced amazing run and beat three Manchester United defenders to riffle home a shot past De Gea.

Son could’ve doubled the Tottenham’s lead with a header minutes later, but he was denied by a brilliant save from the goalkeeper.

Rashford had the best chance of the first 45 minutes for United, but his low shot was well-saved by Lloris.

United were boosted by the introduction of Paul Pogba, Mason Greenwood and Odion Ighalo in the second and should have equalized from one of two chances created in succession.  But Lloris brilliantly Fernandes.

Pogba showed delightful touches to win a penalty, which Fernandes scored to get the Red Devils back on leveled terms, with only ten minutes left of the regulation time.
