Austin Ejide says he’s disappointed after his club Hapoel Hadera failed to grab the maximum points in their Israeli Ligat ha’Al relegation game against Sektzia Ness Ziona FC on Wednesday.
Ejide and his mates did not start the game on a good note and they quickly fell two goals behind in the encounter, but a stunning late comeback means the game ended in a 2-2 draw at Afula Illit Stadium.
The 36-year-old who was in goal for the entire duration of the game, said he’s that football returned after a long lock down, but regretted his team’s failure to begin the restart on a winning note.
“A rocky start after a long period of lockdown. Nevertheless, it was a good game against Ness Ziona. Amazing response from the boys”, He said.
The result however left Ejide and other with mountain to climb, if they are to avoid relegation.
Ejide who has been capped 34 times by Nigeria, joined the club in 2017 and has played 58 games for them.
