Assistant coach of Nigeria’s women basketball national team Peter Ahmedu has stated that it will be tough for players plying their trade in Nigeria to make the cut to play for the D’Tigress at the Olympics.
Ahmeu speaking in a chat with  www.brila.net said the absence of competitions or programs in view will be a big disadvantage to domestic basketball players and this will knock them out of the reckoning for consideration for positions in the national team.
“It’s going to be tough for any local player to be able to make the Olympic team with what we are seeing on the ground, there is no league no competition, no championship, and no programs.
So it’s going to be tough not like all these players from Europe playing day and night week in week out getting better.
“It’s going to be actually tough for any local player to actually make the Olympic team.”
