Emenike wants current Super Eagles squad to prioritize winning titles for Nigeria

Former Nigeria international Emmanuel Emenike has advised the current squad to prioritize winning major honors for Nigeria before the leaving the national team.

Emenike who was integral part of the Nigeria’s 2013 African Cup of Nations winning sqaud in South Africa made this declaration while speaking with www.brila.net.

 

The former Fenerbahce of Turkey forward said he never knew it was a big deal helping Nigeria to her third African Cup of Nations crown until his after retirement from the national team assignment.

 

“Winning Afcon was a great feeling at that moment, but i didn’t know how big it was until I stopped playing for the national team and see the way people appreciate me when I go out there.” he told www.brila.net.

 

So i’ll advise every young players to put their minds in winning something for Nigeria is a big deal, but you won’t understand until you stop playing for Nigeria” he said.

 

Apart from lifting the trophy , Emenike scored four goals to share the tournament top scorer award with Ghana’s Idris Wakaso.

 

He was part of the Super Eagles squad to the 2014 World cup in Brazil and scored nine goals in 35 appearances for Nigeria.
