Boma Iyaye: Rivers United destiny in their own hands| By Kelvin Ekerete.

Nigeria’s sole African continental football cup campaigners Rivers United are billed to take on Kampala Capital City Authority FC of Uganda on Saturday as both teams seek a firm stand on the Group A table after gathering one win and one loss respectively with the Kasasiro boys sitting at the bottom of the table. The leader of the Rivers United delegation Boma Iyaye believes that only a win will ease the team of their current burden.
The Rivers state commissioner of Sport insists that the team have their destiny in their hands going into Saturdays match in Kampala. “We expect the best from Rivers United, they have their destiny in their hands knowing fully well that the group is still very open, a win for them will shoot them up to the first position and a loss for them will be very sad. The prayer now is that they put their acts together and get a good result.”
Rivers United
KCCA recovered from their matchday one 3 – 0 loss to FUS in Morocco to win their second game 2 – 1 against Club Africain while Rivers United beat FUS 1 – 0 in Port Harcourt after losing 3 – 1 to Club Africain in their first match but three points will help consolidate their position on the table and Boma Iyaye hopes they can convert their chances which they failed to do most times in their first two matches especially last week at home.
“When you play in front of your home crowd there is always lots of pressure, you want to score quickly so that pressure made them lose some chances in the first half but we expect that they should have been able to correct their mistakes and do the right things at the right time.
Iyaye also insists that winning the CAF Confederations Cup trophy is the only way the team can repay the government for their unflinching support.
