Former Nigerian goalkeeper Dosu Joseph has come to the defence of Victor Moses after the player pulled out of Nigeria’s 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against South Africa.
Moses reportedly picked a foot injury which would require surgery and was duly given leave by the Technical Adviser, Gernot Rohr to be left out of the Super Eagles squad for the June 10 clash.

Speaking on the player’s absence, Dosu told brila.net that, ‘Moses is an important player to Nigeria and also important to the Coaches.’
‘He’s one of the best we have now, based on his performance for his Club.
‘I’m also certain though, that the Coaches have replacements for him. The team has been doing well as a unit and should cover up well in his absence. That’s the essence of today’s Friendly against Togo.’
