‘If I were in Ighalo’s shoe, I’d jump at Shanghai’s offer’, Says Former WBA defender Udeze

Former West Bromwich Albion defender, Ifeanyi Udeze has stated that he will accept Shanghai Shenhua’s offer if he were in Odion Ighalo’s shoes at Manchester United.

We earlier reported that Odion Ighalo has been offered a two-year contract extension worth more than £400,000 per week by his parent club Shanghai Shenhua.

Speaking via Brila FM on Monday morning, Udeze stated categorically that he will not think twice before making his decision on such a massive offer.

“At 31, what’s left? Who do need to impress? No one – I will jump at the Shanghai’s offer immediately, Udeze said.

“£400,000 is a lot of money and Manchester United cannot afford to match that amount, so, for me, I will accept Shanghai’s deal.

The Chinese club wants to reward the Nigerian striker for his good form at United, where has scored four goals in his first three starts.

However, the former Super Eagles defender has insisted that the decision is up to Ighalo and his management to make. He is also hoping they make the best decision for the Ajegunle-born forward.

Udeze was a member of the Super Eagles squad at the 2002 World Cup at Korea/Japan.
