Super Eagles star Shehu Abdullahi has revealed his preferred position on the pitch but insisted he’s ready to play wherever coaches asked him to play.
Abdullahi is the most versatile player in the current Super Eagles set and has been used effective different positions over the years.
While Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr has deployed in the right-back position, The former Plateau United player has excelled in a midfield position for his club Busarspor and has scored for goals from the position this season.
The 27-year-old, however, said in a question and answer time with his social media followers on Monday, he preferred playing in the midfield but ready to help his coaches by playing in any position.
“I have played in a lot of positions. Even under John Obuh at U20, I played at Left Back. I started as a midfielder, it’s still my favorite position, but as a professional, my coach determines where I play and I could easily fit in. At Bursa, I have played as Winger.” He said.
Abdullahi has represented Nigeria at the U-20 level, he was also capped at the U-23 level where he won the Bronze medal at the Rio Olympics.
Abdullahi also featured at the 2018 FIFA senior world cup and 2019 African Cup nations respectively.
