Cyril Olisema stars as Enyimba outclass Sunshine stars in Aba

Enyimba got their title defense back on track after beating Sunshine Stars 3-0 in a Matchday 24 of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).

Enyimba was playing their first game after elimination from CAF Confederations cup and they gave their fans something to cheer with a perfect display.

 

The game at the Enyimba International Stadium saw the hosts start brightly with Martins Usule almost opened the scoring in the third minute, but Sunshine goalie Olorunleke Ojo made a wonderful save.

 

Usule went closer again after wiggled   past his marker in the seventh minute,  but Olorunleke was on ground to make another good save.

 

The former Akwa United goalkeeper was having good time in Sunshine goal,  when he made a third consecutive save in the ninth minute, this time he denied Anayo Iwuala.

 

Ojo was finally beaten in the 12th minute after Cyril Olisema sent a corner kick which was headed in by Martins Usule.

 

Sunshine had their first effort in the 44th minute when Sadeeq Yusuf got past his marker and released a shot from 15 yards only to be denied by Theophilus Afelokhai to keep Enyimba’s 1-0 lead intact at halftime.

 

Enyimba increased their lead in the 59th minute as Stanley Dimgba score from close range, following another assist from Cyril Olisema who increased his tally to nine this season.

 

Ojo Olorunleke was called into action once more in 63rd minutes as he denied for Sunshine stars Dayo Ojo from adding the third from a free-kick .

 

Dare Olatunji however scored the final goal when he tapped in the rebound from Jean-Marie Guera’s strike that hit the woodwork after being punched away by Sunshine’s goalkeeper, to earn Enyimba a big win.
