Italian champions Juventus has confirmed that centre-back Daniele Rugani has tested positive for coronavirus on Wednesday.
The based club said in a statement that the 25-year-old defender has contracted the deadly illness, but not  not showing signs of any COVID-19 symptoms.
Rugani, was on the bench for the derby Italia match between his club Juventus and Inter Milan last Sunday, but has not reacted to the illness at the time.
A statement from the club read: “The footballer Daniele Rugani has tested positive for Coronavirus-COVID-19 and is currently asymptomatic.
“Juventus Football Club is currently activating all the isolation procedures required by law, including the census of those who have had contact with him.”
Rugani has played just seven matches for the Old ladies this season in all competition, as he’s currently behind Leonardo Bonuci and Mathij De Ligt in the pecking order.
