Balogun celebrates Wigan’s emphatic 3-0 win at Reading

Wigan Athletic defender, Leon Balogun has celebrated his side’s 3-0 away win against Reading on Wednesday night in the Championship.

The Nigeria international was handed his fourth appearance against the Royals and gave a good account of himself at the Madejski Stadium.

He marshalled the Lactics defence alongside French centre-back Cédric Kipré and made a game-high seven clearances.

Goals from Kieffer Moore, Jamal Lowe and Michael Jacobs handed the visitors the maximum points on the night.

The victory means relegation threatened Wigan are unbeaten in their last four games, winning two and drawing two.

And reacting to the game, Balogun wrote on his verified Twitter handle,  “Plus three we march on!”

Wigan are still in the drop zone in 22nd position on 37 points, in the 24-team league table.

Balogun will then hope to keep his place in Paul Cook’s team when they come up against Semi Ajayi’s West Bromwich Albion in their next league outing this weekend.
