Lobi Stars of Makurdi missed the chance to return to the top of the Nigeria Professional Football League table following their 0-0 with Plateau United on Sunday.
Lobi Stars hosted the league leaders to the Aper Aku stadium, knowing that a win will return them to the first position ahead of their title rivals.
However Gbenga Ogunbote and his wards failed to capitalise on their home support as Plateau United disctated the game for a longer period.
The first chance of the game fell to Lobi Stars in 35th minutes as Chigozie Obasi’s canon of a free-kick is spilled by Anozie, before it was cleared.
Plateau had their own chance in the 65th minutes after the ball bounced invitingly in front of Abba Umar, but volleyed over the bar from all of 30 yards.
Plateau against had another opportunity as Abba Umar tees up Sunday Anthony who stings James’ palms from edge of the box.
The game ended without goal and Plateau United maintain their one point advantage on top of the log.
The Peace boys have 37 points from 21 matches, while the Pride of Benue have 36 points from the same number of games.
