Board member of the Nigeria Boxing Federation Azania Omo-Agege has calmed nerves concerning the plan of the boxing Federation ahead of the Olympic qualifiers in Senegal next month stating that Nigeria will not have problems qualifying as many boxers as possible for the games.
Omo-Agege speaking in a chat with brila.net said the running of the boxing league will help ensure boxers are active even when they are not camped together yet.
He said the Federation has everything in place monitoring boxers in the league and ranking boxers to know who and who to pencil down when the time to select boxers to come.
“We already have some boxers who we have all prepped up and everything. The board does not really have to meet for us to take decisions on how we are going to move forward.
We already know what we’re doing, we have everything in place the boxers are there, the league has started and from the league too we are also harnessing boxers getting new ones and the old ones to see who is going to go and we are ranking them. So based on that we know who we are sending out for trials and everything.”
