Former Nigeria national team player Mutiu Adepoju has stated that Nigeria is getting close in reckoning for consideration into the prestigious Africa player of the year award nomination into the top three at the senior level with the presence of two in the top three at the Youth level.
Mutii speaking in a chat with www.brila.net said he hopes the two players from Nigeria Victor Osihmen and Samuel Chukwueze that made the Young players category will continue to work hard and maybe in the next two years will be strong enough to challenge for the Africa player of the year award proper in the senior category.
“I think we are getting close since we are having representation in the junior ones because the junior ones will continue the way they have been playing and all that and let’s say in the next two years maybe we will have candidate in the senior one and I believe that it’s all possible.”
