Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen says keeping up the goal scoring form he had for former side Sporting Charleroi is his target for new club LOSC Lille Metropole.
The hotshot goal scorer earned an £11.70m transfer to Lille in the summer on the back of an impressive season in the Jupiler League where he found the net 20 times in 36 games for Sporting Charleroi to become one of the most sought after forwards in Europe.
The 20-year old who signed a five-year contract with the French side wasted little time in showing just why Lille settled for him to replace the Arsenal-bound Nicolas Pepe and Rafael Leao with a brace on his league debut against Nantes.
That rip-roaring debut was a pointer of what was to come with the former Wolfsburg striker going on to set a club record with a further six goals in all competitions before the international break.
He has become the toast of the Lille faithful who have named him the club’s player of the month twice on the trot and he has found a fortress in the Stade Pierre-Mauroy where he’s scored in every single home game for the Great Danes this season.
Osimhen told brila.net that he wants to build on the momentum, “it’s important for me to continue from where I stopped with my [former] club, I want to keep on doing well and scoring goals for my club and country, this is the most important thing for me,” he said.
