Ekpo urges Super Eagles to turn attention to Lesotho quickly

Following their slim win over the Squirrels of Benin Republic in their first game of the 2021 African Cup of Nations qualifiers on Wednesday, Ex international Friday Ekpo has heaped praises of the Super Eagles of Nigeria.

The Super Eagles produced a complete comeback at the Nest of Champions in Uyo to beat the Benin Republic 2-1.

Reacting to the performance of the Gernot Rohr’s tutored side, Friday Ekpo lauds the team for the great showing and urged them to turn their attention to the next game against Lesotho on Sunday.

Ekpo also stated that the current team is a young one and warned against unduly pressure from Nigeria soccer fans.

“It’s a young team that needs to work and work well. They have been together for a while so they need to understand each other. I don’t want Nigerians to put them under pressure but to give them the much needed,” he said.

“As a young team, they almost put every one of us under pressure but we knew they were going to turn things around.”

“We should be patient with them even with the coach and see how it works out. They are all young upcoming stars.”
