NFF Not Ready To Offer Gernot Rohr New Deal

Nigeria football Federation are reportedly not ready to offer Super Eagles head coach Gernot Rohr a new contract before the expiration of the current deal.

Rohr’s current deal is set to expire in June 2020, and there are no indication that the Nigerian Football Governing body are willing to sit on the negotiation table with the Franco-German tactician for a new deal.

Rohr put pen to paper to become Nigeria’s manager back in August 2016 signing a two-year contract and set the ball rolling by qualifying the country for the World to Cup in 2018 and the AFCON a year later after the country has missed out in the last two editions.

However failure of the Super Eagles to win the 2019 AFCON in Egypt attracted criticisms, with many calling for his sack.

The NFF opted to stick with the former Gabon and Niger coach and announced that he will be send on a refresher course in Germany.

Brila.net has now gathered that the relationship between the NFF and Rohr has hit the rock over how his salary issue made the headline in the last couple of weeks.

An insider who pleaded anonymity told brila.net that it’s unlikely Rohr will remain the manager of the after the qualifiers.

Rohr will lead Nigeria out against Benin in a matchday-one 2021 AFCON qualifier next Wednesday at the Akwa Ibom International Stadium, Uyo and Lesotho four days later in Maseru.
