Two Eaglets players in contention for goal of the tournament award

Despite Nigeria’s U17 national team  3-1 loss to the Oranje in the early hours of Wednesday, two Nigerians have been included in the ten best goals of the group stages and are thereby in contention for 2019 FIFA U17 World Cup Goal of the Tournament.

According to the official website of FIFA, Ibrahim Sa’id and Peter Olawale’s efforts made the shortlist of the ten best goals of the group stages.

However, Dabo Babes attacking midfielder Said netted a hat-trick as the Golden Eaglets came from behind to beat Ecuador 3-2 a week ago and his second goal was the pick of the bunch, a curling shot from outside the box.
