Allegri now favourite for Bayern job after Kovac sacking

Former Juventus coach Max Allegri is the favourite to take over as the new boss of Bayern Munich after Niko Kovac was fired, according to German newspaper BILD.

The Bundesliga champions announced this evening that Kovac had been dismissed.
Allegri has been on a sabbatical since leaving Turin last June, and it was thought that he was holding off for the opportunity to manage in England.
He was linked to the Manchester United job earlier this season, but claimed he would take the full season off to recuperate.
However with Bayern sacking Kovac, the chance to manage the German giants might be too good an opportunity to pass up for the 52-year old.
Kovac was officially sacked after Bayern got swept aside 5-1 by Eintracht Frankfurt in the Bundesliga on Saturday. They’re four points off leaders Borussia Monchengladbach.
Allegri was in charge of Juve for five years, winning five Scudetti and four consecutive domestic doubles, as well as reaching two Champions League finals.
