CIV release star-studded squad to face Olympic Eagles

Nigeria’s Group  B opponent Cote d’Ivoire have announced their squad for the U23 AFCON 2019 tournament taking place in Egypt this month.

 

The young Elephants have released a list of 21 players to prosecute the 8-nation tournament that is billed to hold in Egypt between November 8th and November 22nd.

 

Genoa’s highest goalscorer with five goals this season headlines the list while Celtic’s Vakoun Bayo was also made the cut.

 

Not forgetting Chelsea’s goalkeeper Tie Nicolas Basile and Toulouse FC midfielder Ibrahim Sangare.

 

However, the Cote d’Ivoire U23 team will face Nigeria’s Dream team VII in their first game on the 9th of this month at the Al Salam Stadium in Cairo.

 

While they will face South Africa and Zambia on the 12th and 15th of November respectively.

 

The Olympic Eagles, on the other hand, arrived in Egypt on Thursday evening for the tournament they won four years ago in Dakar.
