Home based captain of the Nigeria’s basketball team, Abdul yahaya has hailed his team players and management following the team’s successful campaign at the President Cup and qualification to the final 8.
Yahaya who joined the Port Harcourt based team before the commencement of the cup games told brila.net that the team will work extra hard to become the first Nigerian team to represent the country at the Inaugural 2020 BAL and believes with his presence in the squad the ticket is not far from reach.
“I’ve added leadership and experience to this team and I’ll give everything to get the ticket though it was tough joining them shortly before the cup campaign started but Rivers Hoopers are a very good side and they are a team that likes to win”
The former Kano pillars basketball player, recorded 16 points, 9 rebounds, 3 assist, 1 steal and 1 block in Hoopers last group game win against Nigeria Army basketball side to go 5 games unbeaten and finish on top of Group A has promised to use his experience to help the team secure the ticket for the inaugural 2020 Basketball Africa League.
