Safety Babes win women handball league

Safety Babes have emerged champion of the 2019 women handball league after defeating former champions Plateau Peacocks 31-29 on Wednesday at the Rowe Park Sports Center, Yaba, Lagos.

The FRSC ladies however finished first on the log with 32 points while Plateau Peacocks ended in thrid-place with 29 points.

 

In the same vein, Edo Dynamos who played out a 31-31 draw in an exhibition game against Ghana Police, ended their campaign with 30 points to finish second.

 

Imo Grasshoppers finished fourth with 26 points and ended their campaign with a 27-21 victory over fifth-placed Seasider Babes of Lagos who finished with 18 points.

 

For winning this season’s title, Safety Babes were awarded N1m in prizemoney while second Edo Dynamos and third  Plateau Peacock received =N=750,000 and =N=500,000 respectively.
