3SC are ready to fight for NPFL promotion- Lawal

Shooting Stars Sports Club ( 3SC ) of Ibadan Team Manager Oladimeji Lawal has assured the teeming fans of the club their readiness to gain promotion back into the elite division ahead of the new NNL season.

The 5-time League winners lost out on NPFL promotion to Akwa Starlets following their 3-0 loss to Akwa Starlets in the final NNL playoffs held at the Stephen Keshi Stadium in Asaba back in July.

However, that loss made it the third time the Oluyole Warriors will fail at the last hurdle to make it into the NPFL.

But, Lawal believes the team, who recently won the Dapo Abiodun Pre-Season trophy in Ijebu-Ode, is ready to give it their best shot saying that they have technically gifted players who are prepared for the challenge.

“ It is normal, hard times will always come, but I guess we have gone beyond that phase now,” he said.

“ We are primed to give it another shot. If you look at the club in the last two seasons, we have always made it into the playoffs. So, it means there is something we are doing right and we should only work on the final details. The players we have are good players ; technically and tactically gifted so, we can definitely make a serious push for promotion again.

“ It has never been a bad campaign for the club but, with the new government in place, we have received assurances from them and, really, it’ s a boost for us.

“ The governor has indicated interest and we ’ re seeing signs, so I believe we ’ ll give it another try this season .”
