Super Falcons interim coach Christopher Danjuma has apologised to Nigerians for the inability of the team to qualify for next year’s Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
The African Champions were held to a 1-1 at the Agege stadium in Lagos on Monday by Ivory Coast, after the first leg had ended goalless in Abidjan last Thursday.
Danjuma who has now failed to qualify the country for the Olympics twice , told brila exclusively that the girls tried their best , and they are sorry it wasn’t enough to guarantee a place in the tournament in Tokyo.
“It’s unfortunate that the team could not qualify for Tokyo” he told brila.net.
Danjuma also urge Nigerians to be patient with him in his bid to bring back glory days to the Falcons camp.
Nigeria has now failed to qualify for the last three Olympic games , Beijing Olympics back in 2008 was the last time they made an appearance.
