Madrid’s Chidinma Okeke hurt by Falcons missed Olympic chance

Nigerian and Madrid CFF player, Chidinma Okeke has called on Nigerian fans to bear with the team following the Super Falcons disappointing performance which saw their 2020 Olympic qualification bid come to an end against Cote d’Ivoire women in the third round game which ended 1-1 on aggregate.

The former Falconets star who shined for Nigeria at this year’s FIFA women’s world cup expressed her sadness and disappointment via a tweet “Crashing out of the Olympic race leaves a bad taste in our mouths. It really hurt most because it’s the dream of every sports men and women to play at the Olympic Games…

 

However, the Former FC Robo Queens players apologized and believes the team has learnt from the sad experience “Results are remembered but we can always learn from our mistakes and grow. Apologies to the fans.”

Nigeria’s last appearance at the Olympics football tournament was in Beijing 08′ and will await her chance to play in the France 2024 olympics.
