Dennis Emmanuel caught the eyes at the Bernabeu on Champions League night, not just for his brace against Real Madrid, but also for his goal celebration.
Emmanuel produced the now famous Cristiano Ronaldo “Siii” celebration after his second goal against Los Blancos and right in front of the Madrid Ultras – surreal.
While it seemed like it was meant to deride the home fans, the Nigerian international revealed differently.
Per Michael Boniface [MailOnline], Dennis said it was his long-standing admiration for the Portuguese superstar which gave him the motivation to celebrate like his hero.
‘I’ve been a Cristiano fan forever and I was very upset when he left Madrid,’ Dennis commented after the game.
‘So I decided that if I scored in the Bernabeu, that’s what I’d do.
‘Everyone expected them to beat us easily. We prepared for them, we believed and we had a good feeling.’
