Super Eagles and West Brom defender, Semi Ajayi says he prefers to playing at the heart of defense than as defensive midfielder.
The former Arsenal trainee excelled both positions for his former Club Rotherham United last season, but since moving to West Brom in the summer, he has been constant in the back four.
While answering questions on his the position he prefers, the 25-year-old said he’s more of defender that a midfielder.
“I’m happy to play wherever the team needs me but center-half is definitely where I feel most comfortable.
“That’s where I’ve played the longest,”
Ajayi who has scored twice for the Baggies this season added that he’s happy to learn under manager Slaven Bilic, who is also a defender in his active days.
“Slaven Bilic being here was a big draw. I knew he was a center-half and I knew I could definitely learn a lot from him.”
Ajayi has played in all West Brom eight games and he’s also invited for the Super Eagles October 13th friendly game with the Brazilian national team billed for Singapore.
