The Kwara United FC are through to the final of a pre-season Tournament, after hard fought 1-0 win over Rivers United.

Kwara United took an early lead in the game played at Stephen Keshi Stadium in Asaba on Wednesday.

Ufere Chinedu scored the only goal of the game in the fifth minutes of the encounter to send the Abdullahi Biffo’s men into the final of the prestigious pre season tournament.

Kwara United will now play Lobi Stars FC  of Makurdi in the final, after the Gbenga Ogunbote side defeated Niger Tornadoes FC 3-1 on penalties in the second semi-final.

The game initially ended 1-1 after regulation time , Musa Wakili put Abubakar Bala led Tornadoes ahead in 39th minutes, but Lobi restored parity through Abdulkareem Munini in the 59th minutes.

However, both side failed to find the winner in the regulation time , as Lobi held their nerves to secure a win via penalty shoot-out.
