Soaring Eagles! Osimhen best in France, Kalu Europe’s best dribbler, Ndidi rated too

Victor Osimhen has been box office material since his move to France with Lille OSC and the youngster has the numbers to prove it.

On Friday, Osimhen sent the Stade Pierre Mauroy crowd wild when he noted his side’s opening goal against Angers.

It took his tally to five in as many games, but also his per game percentage ratings went off the roof this weekend, per whoscored.com calculations.

The Nigeria scored a 7.7 rating against Angers in the 2-1 win on Friday and since, no player in all of France – whose stats is recorded – has out performed the Nigerian.

According to the data website, Tammy Abraham, who is also a prospect for the Nigeria senior team, tops the list of performers with his goals and contribution in the early weeks of the European season.

Abraham is tied at the top with Sergio Aguero and Robert Lewandowski, but, Osimhen is the only Ligue Un player in the top five.

The young forward has scored 5 of Lille’s 7 goals this season and has a 71% contribution rating, which is 29% more than the only other Ligue Un player (Moussa Dembele, Lyon) in the top 10.

Another Nigerian who has also stood out in the early weeks in Europe is FC Girondins de Bordeaux winger, Samuel Kalu.

On Saturday, the Super Eagles player punched his fourth 90 minutes football, as Bordeaux eased by Metz 2-0 at the Nouveau Stade de Bordeaux.

He has played in all five league games for the club this season and across Europe he rates as the player with the most dribbles per game (4.4) according to whoscored.com.

Former Ligue Un players Nabil Fekir and Nicolas Pepe fall behind the Nigerian in the top five list.

And in his fourth season in English football Wilfred Ndidi remains a consistent feature as a top tackler in the game.

The Leicester City midfielder, so far, this season has made at least 5 tackles per game, earning him a spot in the top five and only bettered than Manchester United’s Aaron Wan-Bissaka (5.6) in England.
